Born into a family dedicated to optometry, Dr. Villa followed in the footsteps of her late father who modeled leadership and community service in his long career as an optometrist.  It was in 6th grade that Dr. Villa experienced for herself what it was like to have vision struggles and how life changing proper glasses and eyecare could be. In an effort to help others with this same struggle, Dr. Villa founded Villa Optometry in 2016, with the mission to enhance lives through clear vision.

With a passion for learning and a commitment to education, Dr. Villa earned her degree from UC San Diego (BA ‘91) and graduated with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry (Doctor of Optometry, ’95). During her residency at the VA Medical Center Sepulveda, she received advanced training in ocular disease treatment and management for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. Over her 25 years of practice, she has enjoyed managing dry eye syndrome, and fitting specialty contact lenses for conditions such as keratoconus, and other corneal irregularities. Dr. Villa has contributed to her field through participation in clinical research for Bausch and Lomb and publishing a case study on retinitis pigmentosa in Optometry and Vision Science. She is an active member of Vision Source, San Diego County Optometric Society, California Optometric Society, and the American Optometric Society.

Beyond her professional life, Dr. Villa is committed to a healthy lifestyle. She resides near the beach where she enjoys long walks, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, and yoga. A lifelong vegetarian, Dr. Villa, enjoys cooking healthy meals. She and her husband have three college-aged children who were raised with these same values of healthy living. Witnessing her daughter, Claire, and sons, Brian and Ethan, grow into healthy, independent adults is her biggest joy. Dr. Villa is eager to learn about you and your family, exploring how she can contribute to enhancing your lives through exceptional eye care.

Dr. Ricky K.F. Chan grew up in LA County, navigating the complexities of life as a first-generation immigrant. Early on, he became a vital link for his family, experiencing firsthand the challenges of accessing quality healthcare while overcoming language barriers. This journey ignited his passion for medicine, and now, as a dedicated doctor, he is committed to ensuring his patients receive the care they deserve.

Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, and currently learning Spanish, Dr. Chan believes that effective communication is key to building trust. He takes the time to ask the right questions
and provide clear, easy-to-understand explanations, creating a comfortable space for patients to voice their concerns—just as he would for his own family.

When he is not at the office, you might find Dr. Chan on the road, where his cat Rey often curls up on his lap during spirited drives through beautiful canyons. A car enthusiast, he enjoys the
thrill of racing games and honing his DIY skills. His interest in driving safety, coupled with his own experiences with nearsightedness, fuels his dedication to eye health.

Dr. Chan is passionate about primary care optometry, specializing in myopia management, binocular vision, and glaucoma. He believes that prevention is the best cure and takes pride in
helping patients make informed decisions about their eye health.

His commitment to making a difference extends beyond the local community. During his undergraduate studies at UC Santa Barbara, he dedicated over 200 hours to providing free
sight-restoring surgeries for underserved populations through SEE International—a non-profit organization recently highlighted by MrBeast in a collaboration to raise awareness.

After earning his Doctor of Optometry from The Illinois College of Optometry—the oldest and largest institution of its kind—Dr. Chan’s diverse experiences have shaped him into a
compassionate and skilled eye doctor, dedicated to improving lives through personalized care.
